Common questions
Wired (KNX) vs. Wireless (Zigbee/Matter): which is better?
Neither is strictly “better”; they serve different needs. KNX is the gold standard for new builds and critical systems (lighting, HVAC) because it’s incredibly stable and lasts decades. Zigbee and Matter are perfect for wireless flexibility, retrofits, and adding sensors without chasing cables. We often design a hybrid topology to get the best of both worlds.
Will my smart home stop working if the internet goes down?
No. A properly engineered smart home relies on a local controller (hub) that processes all automations, scenes, and logic locally within your house. Internet access is only required for remote control via your phone when you are away, or for voice assistants like Alexa/Siri. Your lights and climate will always work, even during an outage.
Do I need a specialized electrician to install your design?
For wired systems (KNX), yes, you need an electrician familiar with low-voltage bus cables. For wireless systems, a standard electrician can handle the power wiring, and the device pairing can be done by an integrator or a tech-savvy homeowner. We provide a foolproof Bill of Materials and schematic so any qualified professional can execute it.
Can I start small and expand the system later?
Absolutely. We design with scalability in mind. We might start by automating just the ground-floor lighting and climate, but we will lay the network topology and choose a controller that allows you to seamlessly add security, blinds, or irrigation later without replacing the core system.
Do you recommend specific brands or lock me into an ecosystem?
We are strictly vendor-neutral. We don’t sell hardware, and we don’t take commissions from manufacturers. We specify the exact part numbers that best fit your budget and technical requirements. If a specific brand goes out of business or changes its pricing, you can swap it for an equivalent device without breaking your system.
